Demo Against GST by JERIT

The NGO, Jeritan Rakyat Tertindas (JERIT), is planning to hold an anti-GST demonstration during the GST Expo at KLCC from 1-3 October, 2014.

It’s been the contention of JERIT that the GST is only to benefit the big corporations and its implementation is a burden to the lower-income group.

JERIT is a front for Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM). Being a socialist party, PSM must be seen as a champion for the lower-income group.

JERIT is using the GST issue to further the agenda of PSM. JERIT is accusing the government as being capitalist-friendly and the implementation of GST is to impoverish the ordinary rakyat.

GST is a convenient issue used by JERIT to stir up anti-government sentiments and to gain support from the lower-income group. JERIT can only spew slogans against GST without presenting any rational arguments. It is only playing on the emotions of the ordinary rakyat.

The participants of JERIT’s demonstrations are mostly drawn from the estates and rural areas. They are not well-informed and act on behest of JERIT’s leaders. Most of the demonstrators would not even know the meaning of the acronym “GST”.

To JERIT (read:PSM), the protest against GST is merely a political move!
